CURRENT EVENTS

Well. I finally feel like i'm getting back into the swing of things. I've started playing a lot of Killing Floor and Garrysmod, and now, as a prolific player and DM of many types of Role-Playing games, I'm going to be running a game of CTHULHUTECH for a group of my friends.

(This pretty much sums up Cthulhutech)

Besides that, I'll also be playing in a game of SAVAGE WORLDS run by my friend Aya, set in a custom Cyberpunk setting that Aya made up~ It sounds pretty cool so far to me. I'll be playing a Ex-Commando Girl who smokes too much and is good at TACTICAL ESPIONAGE ACTION. Overall, I can't wait.

This is an accurate representation of Cyberpunk Savage Worlds

And lastly, it seems like I just joined a campaign of ECLIPSE PHASE, run by my good friend PurpleXVI. It is a cool futuristic setting where the Earth is all blown up and people can switch bodies with ease. And not just human bodies. You can have robot bodies, bodies that are intelligent, human sized animals like octopi and crows, and even things like NOVACRABS, which are horrible metallic death crustaceans, and you can play characters from places like mars (where everyone is a redneck). Yes. You can play as redneck squid-people from mars.

Artist's Depiction.

So yeah, all told, i'm feeling much better~ And now I feel better about continuing my blog that no one reads, too~ Here, have some cool musics:

BRING THE BACON

Had to walk through a snow storm the other night. Gotta love minnesota.
Halloween is coming up. I won't be doing anything for it though. Oh well.
Might be getting internet soon but I won't count on it. Can't think of anything else to say.

Forever boring.

Tron

I'll be honest: I never actually saw the original Tron. I probably will soon.
But the new one coming out looks kind of cool, to be honest, and the soundtrack is being done by Daft Punk. The ones they have released sound awesome, reminds me of Mass Effect. So Even if the movie sucks, I'll be able to use these songs for something!

things

First of all, for those who remember, I was accosted by a vespid of some sort for a bit. I found his corpse last weekend, however, so he has been dealt with.

In other boring news about me, I am in the middle of planning like 10 PnP games. I have plans for to run an EXALTED game, a continuation of a D&D game I've run forever, as well as a few small existing games. It'd be much easier if I actually had internet at my house.

Anyway, MUSIC.

i dislike Vespula vulgaris

NOOOOOO GO AWAY AAAAAA

yesterday i discovered a wasp in my room. As an insectophobe, i freaked out. i spent hours hiding outside my room and then trying to kill it. Though i didn't finish the job, i managed to wound it. it managed to hide, though, before i could finish the job. I assumed it had crawled off to die alone.

But I was wrong. the next morning i awoke to the buzzing of a wasp, the same who i had fought the previous night. I was distraught, but i went to work attacking it with a shoe. once again i thought i had killed it, but hours later it showed itself, buzzing at me angrily. At this point, I grabbed my things and headed out. I hope when i get back, it will have died. I can only wonder in dread what i will have to do if it is still alive, buzzing insidiously around in the small confines of my room.

Also have some music!

LIBERAL CRIME SQUAD: The best game you might not have heard of maybe

Indiscriminate Murder in Internet Cafes is only the tip of the iceberg!

Liberal Crime squad is a....role playing game?, where you take command of a heroic liberal squad to tear down the tyranny of the Conservative chokehold on america!

The game was originally made by Toady, the man behind the game Dwarf Fortress!
(I am bad at hyping games, holy shit)

Anyway, I love this game, so check it out, it's well worth it!

PART OF A STORY ABOUT 40K THAT I STARTED WRITING: PART 3: WORDSWORDSWORDSWORDSWORDS

++14:53, 143.M42, Dawn of the New Year. Inquisitorial Flagship Blackguard's Boon. Hololithic Tactica Room. Orbitting Hatred IV.++

++Thought of the day: Only in death does duty end++

The Lord Inquisitor carried himself slowly, barely looking at his trusted servants. He rounded the table as Hortense nodded to him and says "Good Afternoon, Lord Inquisitor. I apologize about the failure in Hive Fearbor-", but she found herself interrupted as the Inquisitor says "You didn't fail. You just got shot when you shouldn't have"

Hortense stopped, confused, as Outremer sat down at his thronelike chair at the end of the table. "I didn't fail? What do you mean, Sir? The Mutants discovered me and we had to pull out" Hortense asks. Outremer shifted his hat and leaned forward a bit. "Yes. I needed to confirm that the cult even existed, and then force their hand. You did that well enough. The problem now is dealing with them"

Barney looked around incredulously, and then says "If I can ask, sir, why is that a problem? Hell, we in this room here could probably Exterminate them all, and we have thousands of soldiers in this ship alone! You own one of the Inquisitorial Fleets, for Emperor's sake!"

Outremer stared at Barney for a moment, before quietly stating "A heavy hand here won't work, I've already tried it. Lord Sector Valiencei demanded that I halt the blockade on Hatred IV. Besides, trying to track down all of the Cultists by force would be like looking for a needle in a haystack, and would draw the hatred of the civilians."

Orville agreed, saying "Yea', th' Inquisitor is right. It'd turn into a guerrilla fight quick, and Empera' knows we don't need that in the biggest hive in the Gap o' Sorrow right now, the Battelean Forces could storm us at any time."

Hortense pipes in too, in disagreeance with them "I agree with Barney, Inquisitor. We need to put the pressure on any Cults this near to Battelean. If they managed to take out the Governor and smash or convert the PDF, they could cede to the Arch-Heretic" she stared into the murky-grey eyes of the venerated Inquisitor. She hated defying him, despite her status within his group, but this was an important matter.

The Inquisitor finally shakes his head. "No. That won't work. On top of what I said before, my Inquisitorial Fleet is needed in the Utheran Reach Subsector. I just got word that the Arcturus Panic Reavers has attacked a series of Agri-Worlds"

"The Panic Reavers? How did an entire army of Traitor Guardsmen get through Imperial Space without getting shattered by the Imperial Navy?" Hortense asks, incredulously. She knew that the Traitors of Arcturus had been causing trouble for over a century, but for the last 10 years they had been confined to the Battelean Sub-Sector with the forces of the festering Chaos-Empire growing within.

"That is one of the questions I am going to be investigating. No one knows how they managed it, yet." Inquisitor Outremer says in his usual even, quiet tone. "But regardless, the idea is still not feasible. By the time we eradicate the cult on Hatred IV, the Arcturus Reavers could make their way to more important planets. In the same vein, if we wait, the cult could escape to other planets or dig in even more by the time we deal with the Reavers."

Orville nodded. "True. Wehl, I suppose we coul' just call in another Inquisitor with time on their 'ands, yea?" Hortense hated to agree, but that plan made the most sense to her, so far. She just hated how it seemed that when it rained, it poured. She had wanted a chance to pay them back.

"No. That won't work either, I've already checked with the Hereticus Inqusitors I can personally sway. High Inquisitor Skythia is busy chasing the Sword of Light because of that damned Prophecy, Inquisitor Iniquiet is in the middle of an investigation on Toksaurbo, and Janesse Chel is Emperor-knows-where, out in the Oghma Rift, I have no idea when she will get back." Outremer says in a measured tone.

"Damn. I suppose Ordos Xenos and Malleus are too busy to help us?" Barney asks, probably already knowing the answer. The Inqusitors of the Conqvist Sector were notoriously segregated due to the nature of the Conqvistian Inquisitorial Fleets. Most Inquisitors in the same Ordos are pained to help each other, let alone those of other Ordos.

The Inquisitor nods slowly. "Quite. Henrikson insists he is busy, and I can't even reach that old, self-righteous fool Kaldar Hale. Trying to track down their subordinates is even more difficult"

Barney groans and leans back in his seat. "Then why not do as I said before? Send me down there, with a squad of Stormtroopers. We'll hit the last known coordinates, take out the Mutants, and then we'll just watch the hive for a while to make sure it sticks. No full deployments or complaints from the damned fool Valiencei or any of his underlings, and you'll be able to take the fleet to the Near-Oghma Subsector!" he says passionately. Angkhor nodded slightly, signalling his agreement to this plan.

"I can't send you and a group of stormtroopers down there. You have the most experience in fighting the Arcturus Panic Reavers out of anyone in this room, and I need every veteran soldier I have to finish them off for good." Outremer says firmly, pushing his wide-brimmed hat back.

Anghkor planetside? We can meet up with your latest cell of Acolytes you have waiting in Hive Vilefen, move them to Fearborn, and take out the Cult? I won't be any use against the reavers anyway, and Sukhon is better tracking and hunting than he is fighting toe-to-toe on the battlefield!"

The Inquisitor sighed quietly and pinched the bridge of his nose. He then looks up slightly and says "...Very well, Hortense. Begin the preparations."

an announcementary pronouncement:

Despite having like...6 people who know about this blog at most, I feel like talking to them.
I'll probably have more of that stupid thing I wrote next week, though the blog will be barren until then. I hope anyone reading this actually finds it not mind-numbingly boring. BUT YOU PROBABLY DO.

Anyway, more music until I return :

PART OF A STORY ABOUT 40K THAT I STARTED WRITING: PART 2: Nonsensical Operations, bland dialogue and lacklustre descriptive text!

++14:13, 143.M42, Dawn of the New Year. Inquisitorial Flagship Blackguard's Boon, orbiting Hatred IV, Upper Medicae Wing. Currently inhibiting all out-coming void-traffic from the planetside..++

++Thought of the day: Pain is a gift. Be thankful.++

Awakened by screaming, Hortense bolts upright, covered in a cold sweat, quickly realizing the vocal outcry was coming from her. A cursory glance put her in a Medicae Ward, probably on the Blackguard's Boon, the ironically named Flagship of Lord Inquisitor Ishmael Outremer.

With a groan, she pushes herself out of her bed, realizing as her feet touch the floor that she has no feeling in her feet and legs. Looking down, she sees a complex system of Metal joints, pulleys and splints covering her legs, with a few clusters of wires leading from her legs to her back. Her hand follows the wires, until she feels them hooked into some sort of metal apparatus over her spine, near where she was shot by the Cathedral. Without any clue as to what the system is or how it works, she simply stands up, noticing that the machine on her legs are providing the movement, not her legs.

She stares worriedly for a moment, before sighing and walking towards the door out of the Medicae Ward. But she is interrupted when the door opens and the resident Medicae, "Interrogator-Apothecary" Boleslav Desya steps in, medicae/pain illicitation mechadendrites wavering ponderously over his head. "Ah, looks like the girl can walk. Any pain, or did I do my job too well?" he asks in his mysteriously emotive mechanical voice. Hortense sighs and says "Whatever you did, it seems to be working fine"

Boleslav steps further into the room and looks down at Hortense's legs. "The machination I've put in place is a complex and, with complete honesty, brilliant system made to assist you in moving until a pack of reparation nanoservitors I placed into your spinal cord replace the damage it received in the shootout."

Hortense, who never cared much for Cogboy technobabble, says "Can you explain that more, but with terms that make some sense?", still not sure what Desya was talking about. The Techpreist nods and says slowly and condescendingly, as though he were speaking to a child: "The things stuck to your legs are connected to your central nervous system. When you try to make your legs move, which can't at the moment, they move instead, allowing you to walk."

Hortense stares at Boleslav for a moment, before saying "Go on...". The Techpriest continues "The slug that entered your back hit you in the lower portion of your spine, effectively paralyzing your legs. I put some machines into your back to fix it, but it will take a month or so. Until then the things on your legs will let you function. Do you get it now?"

Hortense says "Yeah, I think so...thanks, I guess. I'm going to speak to the team now, I'll let you...get back to work, or whatever.", before she starts walking out of the room. Boleslav waves her off disdainfully as he moves to his workstation.

Making her way through the masterfully crafted halls of the Ship, purpose-built to confuse boarders and lead them into killzones. Hortense had learned to traverse them, but it still took a lot of effort to make her way to the conference hall located next to the bridge.
As she opens the door she sees the rest of her team, a group of somewhat venerable acolytes, veterans of a multitude of missions given to them by High Inquisitor Outremer, as well as his cadre of lesser Inquisitors.

The first was Orville Eryuut, an ex-Deathworlder from the planet Wither, a particularly pestilent planet overwhelmed with poisonous bogs, volcanic seepages, shallow murky seas, and a host of horrible, swarming insects. Curiously, Orville's specialty in high-command military tactics and study of historical military campaigns, both Imperial and the odd recorded Xenos battle. Missing a leg, he wears a wooden peg leg, made from the heart of a Witherwood Tree, an almost legendary plant that has sparked centuries long armed conflicts on the Deathworld. His story as to how he found the Witherwood Tree, and then managed to cut it down and evade the Wither-Wasps that make their homes in them change every time he is asked, much to his amusement.

The second was Barney Trujillo, an ex-convict who by sheer luck, wit and force of will went from waiting for the gallows to serving aboard the Blackguard's Boon in a series of obscenely lucky events. Held on Hatred II for a series of crimes, climbing from muggings and petty theft to upper-hive white-collar crime. His reign of crime ended when he was caught by, ironically, High Inquisitor Argylle Cromwell, the Inquisitor who later trained Inquisitor Ishmael Outremer, and then later gave his Inquisitorial Flotilla to him. Gamble then spent 13 years in the Hatred II Penal Facility, before being sent to the planet Hatred to steel up the defense against the Batellean Offensive into the Gap of Sorrow. But when he was offloaded, the shuttle he was put to ground on was hit by a Zakkernian Screamer-Fighter's missile. Crawling from the wreckage, he managed to stow away on the closest vessel: The Blackguard's Boon. When he was ultimately found by Ishmael, the Inquisitor decided to hire him.

Third was a rarity among Conqvist sector Inquisitor Acolyte groups: A Xenos Mercenary, Anghkor Sukhon, a venerable Kroot Shaper that despite his age and considerable amount of scars, is still capable of killing most things with insulting ease, especially to a hardened soldier like Hortense.

As Hortense steps inside the room, Anghkor turns to face her, the mass of scar tissue making up the right half of his face making the hardened Ex-Guardswoman a bit ill even to this day. She remembers hearing that Sukhon was hit in the face with a Tau Battlesuit's railgun, and then ripped the pilot out of the suit and ate his heart before collapsing from blood loss. Anghkor says "It looks as though her wounds were not fatal. Almost regrettable, I would have liked to have tasted her"

Sorry to disappoint you, Anghkor, but I'm still breathingHortense says, voice dripping with sarcasm. She appreciated the Kroot, but not his blunt sense of humor. Hopefully, she thought, comments like that were just humor. Walking still with some obvious discomfort, Hortense manages to find her seat.

Barney looked up from his dataslate and says “Oh good, you came out okay. I was worried when I dragged you into the vehicle back down on the planet. You feeling alright?”

Hortense blew a strand of hair from her face and says “As well as can be expected after multiple gunshot wounds and traumatic spine damage, Barney”
A laugh from across the table interrupted the conversation, emanating from Orville. “At least ye've still got yer legs, lass. I've only got one left.”

Before Hortense could respond, however, the door to the room opened. She turned to see who it was.

Lord Inquisitor Outremer.

PART OF A STORY ABOUT 40K THAT I STARTED WRITING: PART 1: Lady with dumb name gets shot.

++19:13, 143.M42, Emperor's Day Eve. Hatred IV, Fearborn Hive, Upper Hive, Northwestern Markan District, Stairs Leading to Fearborn Cathedral. High Humidity, Dimmed Sky-Lights, slightly cooled central temperature to emulate the winter on Holy Terra on this holy day. Heightened Security Protocols, General Alarms raised, citizens recommended to return to their homes.++

++Thought of the day: Emperor-Damned Clusterfrak.++

Hortense Klavios stumbled her way down the steps of the burning cathedral, wounded leg barely functioning as blood drooled it's way down the stricken appendage. The Toksaurbo Pattern Lasrifle in her hands was out of charge, completely useless, save the possible application of a blunt weapon to crack a few skulls.

A static-spouting commbead in her ear buzzed angrily like a cornered Wither-Wasp, having lost contact to Orville during the scuffle she just ran from in the Cathedral. As she looked around frantically at the street in front of her for support, she spots a black painted civilian wheeled transport screech around a corner, leaving a black skid mark of burnt rubber.

Hortense continued down the extravagantly long stairs towards the street, even as she heard iron-shod boots clanging their way out of the cathedral doors, propelled by the masked mutant insurgents that had ambushed her. Just before she touched down on the landing to the last fleet of stairs, a slug from a poorly made but undeniably deadly handgun slammed into her back, flooding Hortense's mind with pain.

Pushed by the force of the heavy slug and her legs unwilling to work under the duress, Hortense tumbles painfully down the marble staircase, landing with an unceremonious thud on the rockrete sidewalk. A centimeter from passing out, she feels a hand on her shoulder, forcefully pulling her into the black vehicle. Lasbolts fly from a laspistol held by one of her compatriots, hitting a mutant in the chest. Smiling even while flooded with pain, Hortense is finally pulled into the vehicle, the door slamming behind her. Voices shout, their words indistinct, and soon they are away. As the Solid Projectile rounds cease to ricochet off the vehicle, Hortense blacks out.
